The Future of Electric Cars: Predictions and Emerging Trend

The future of the electric vehicles' global market is expanding at a CAGR of 21.7%, which is expected to continue. Growth from 8.1 million units is expected to reach 39.21 million by 2030. Multiple factors, including worries about pollution, are driving this rapid expansion.

In recent years, countries around the world have placed increasing emphasis on sustainable and environmentally friendly development, and environmentally friendly modes of transportation have become increasingly popular, with electric vehicles, including electric motorcycles and bicycles, gaining increasing attention. At the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, Yadi, a well-known brand in the electric vehicle industry, unveiled a series of new products and technologies that have generated a lot of discussion in the industry.

Exhibition Highlights

A highlight of Yadea's showcase was the debut in the US of their high-speed crossover electric motorcycle series Yadea Keeness VFD and high-speed pedal electric motorcycle YadeaE150. The KeenessVFD model is equipped with a 10KW mid-mounted high performance motor that can reach a top speed of 100km/h and accelerate from 0-50km/h in just 4 seconds. This powerful motor is paired with a vehicle-grade ternary lithium battery equipped with an intelligent energy recovery electric control system to boost power and extend the range of the high-speed electric motorcycle. Yadi E150 is a high-performance electric vehicle with peak power of 5KW, peak torque of 160Nm and top speed of 80km/h. In addition, the E150 features Yadi's innovative Super Fast Charging technology, which can charge the motorcycle 80% in just 20 minutes. There is also a model Trooper01 with dual motor drive and rear hub motor technology with peak power of 1000W and 750W, respectively. The Camper model, to be released in March, will also be equipped with the same motors.

Automotive technology remains quite a hot topic at the show, according to a report by Xinhua News Agency on Jan. 10. According to the show organizer-Consumer Technology Association of America, the 2023 automotive section had the largest exhibitor scale ever, with nearly 300 exhibitors from auto-related industries gathered in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center alone. In addition to Yadi, several other electric vehicle brands released new electric vehicles.

Hub motors and mid-mounted motors contribute to the electric vehicle industry

According to the current trend of new electric vehicles, many new electric vehicles use either hub motors or mid-mounted motors as the drive. As a popular choice of motors commonly used in electric vehicles, hub motors and mid-mounted motors have their own advantages. Hub motors are simple and easy to install. Since the motor is integrated into the wheel, there is no need for a separate drive unit, saving space and weight. In addition, they provide good traction and control even in slippery or off-road conditions, helping to improve vehicle handling and stability, especially in low-traction situations. The mid-mounted motor is extremely easy to maintain because it is in a more accessible location. In addition to this, it is useful in balancing weight distribution, improving traction, reducing noise and vibration, and improving aerodynamics.

Conclusion

It was easy to see through this exhibition that automotive technology is still a topic of interest. From the new electric vehicles displayed at this exhibition, we can see that the future of electric vehicles is still bright. It is believed that with the further development of motor technology and the improvement of infrastructure, the electric vehicle market is expected to continue to grow in the coming years.
